Snow sports are becoming more and more fashionable, so we give you a series of tips if you are thinking about skiing these days...

1. Choose the ski resort you want to go to

Once you are clear, you will only have to see how to get there and where to stay. It will be the beginning of a unique experience.

2. Wear warm clothes

For days in the snow to be 100% satisfactory, you cannot neglect the most important part of the trip. There can be big changes in temperature or visibility, so you will have to be prepared for anything. Wear synthetic fiber clothing close to the skin to keep warm and be sure to wear gloves, a scarf, sunglasses, a helmet and sun protection.

3. Material rental

If you don't have your own equipment, you can rent it at the ski resort you go to. And if you have never skied before, it would be recommended that you take a brief ski initiation course at a school and have the instructors explain to you how. The material works, what are the necessary techniques, how you have to act on certain occasions, etc.

4. Prepare a backpack

It is highly recommended that you carry a backpack with everything you will need to get through the day: food, drink (it is important to carry water, because although it may not seem like it due to the low temperatures, if you do not drink you can become dehydrated) and a cell phone with a battery.

5. Choose the right track
Even if you have already skied on another occasion or taken the introductory course that we mentioned above and you think that you already control the skis and are a professional, be realistic. It is very important that you know how far you are capable of going and ski on the slope that suits your level: you will not suffer mishaps or bother those who are more experts.
6. Ski

Start with gentle descents to learn or warm up before giving way to those that are more pronounced. How to slide? Move your body weight toward the direction you are going to slide and be relaxed with your knees slightly bent. To brake, bring your skis together in a wedge shape.

7. Take a break

From time to time we advise you to rest, but do not do it in the middle of the piste: move to the side and stop there for as long as you need, this way you will not get in the way of other skiers.
8. Go accompanied

Even if you meet more people practicing snow sports on the slopes, it is best that you are accompanied by at least one person. First because it will be more fun and second because you will avoid risks. And never leave the marked trails.
9. In case of accident

If you see an injured skier, mark the area with your skis in the shape of a cross and alert other skiers, as well as the emergency service. Never move someone who has suffered the accident.
10. Ski pass

Buy one that adapts to as many days as you are going to be skiing in the resort, as you will enjoy all the advantages and, most importantly, you will save money. Of course, keep in mind that this does not include accident insurance, so it would be advisable for you to contract it separately (it covers medical expenses and expenses related to the loss of services such as the ski pass, the facilities , ski lessons...).
