Every time we consider a adventure trip we decide which will be the most suitable destination to be able to practice the activities that interest us most. Throughout the world we can find various places where we can fully enjoy our favorite sport.
If via ferratas are your thing and you are wondering where you could go to enjoy them, the best thing you can do is is to go to the Dolomites, located in the northeast of Italy, slightly south of the Alps. A place similar to our Picos de Europa but with landscapes that leave no one indifferent.

It is a mountain range that practically lives on active tourism, as people from all over the world choose to go there during the year, being able to practice sports from skiing to mountaineering. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009, it has numerous forests and meadows where the most impressive reliefs are found.
The via ferrata routes that you will find are not difficult for someone accustomed to the mountains and with a base of escalada, as they allow easy progress. Now that spring has arrived, it is the ideal season to visit its tracks and, if you cannot make the trip, it is best to wait for autumn to arrive (in summer it is too hot).
Once you are in the Dolomites you will have to be prepared for the various obstacles that you can find, such as hanging ladders, narrow landscapes in the middle of a vertical wall, steep terrain... There is no doubt that climbing here will be a challenge. anadventure.
The type of rock that inhabits the region is exclusive, which gives it even more special charm. It is composed of magnesium and calcium carbonates that, with the passage of time and erosion, have formed impressive ridges and a labyrinth worth seeing with its limestone towers, vertical walls, peaks... If you suffer from vertigo, be careful!

As a first recommendation, we advise you to go to Dolomites without hesitation for a moment, because it is truly worth it. Browsing the Internet you will find images that speak for themselves, as well as tourist information so you can explore the area in complete safety. And speaking of security, we can only ask you that you bring material with which you can ensure your passage along the via ferrata:
- Helmet. Apart from saving you from a blow, it will prevent stones that may fall from the mountain from hitting your head.
- Harness. It is very important that it is for climbing, since these are the ones that have the best endurance.
- Anchor bag. It will only serve you to rest and be able to see the landscape, but don't rely too much on it, as a heatsink is much safer.
- Dissipator. The best help in case of a fall.
- Carabiners. You won't be able to leave home without them, especially if they are automatic and always suitable for the via ferrata (they have a K).
- Stirrup. These little ladders can save you from more than one trouble.
- Other materials. Ropes, carabiners, ascenders, eights and, if you wish, descent material.

Among all mountain sports, via ferrata can be within the reach of almost everyone, so don't think twice and surprise that person you love so much with a few days in the Dolomites . You won't forget it!
