We know that you are a regular at the rock adventures but you have already acquired enough confidence as climber and want to take a step further. Perfect! But first of all, and as you will have learned from your instructor or Club of climbing , the first thing you should do is get your own team to climb autonomously .
A climber worth its team must have. Choosing it and knowing how to identify each part is fundamental for a day of safe and fun escalation, so you should never leave improvisation and much less, to neglect the care that each complement needs.
The rope is one of the main protagonists within the climbing team. It is very important to choose the variety that adjusts to the climbing modality you practice and the level you have in this sport.
At all times you must let yourself be guided by the International Organism Uiaa (Union International des Associations d'As alpinisme). They are responsible for stipulating safety standards that all climbing rope : dynamic elongation, impact force, number of UIAA falls, impact force ...
Therefore, and without getting into too much detail since we understand that you know what we are talking about, the most important thing to opt for a type of rope or another are two factors: the rope types and elongation of it.
The three different types of rope in the climbing are:
- The simple strings are those used by one. It is the simplest to use and above all, at a low -scale climbing level or when theAscent is done in a straight line since each insurance is closed with it.
- The double strings , although the two strings are passed through the same insurance, the climber is clipping them alternately in the insurance with the purpose of avoiding friction and drags during the ascension. They are used especially when the line by which you are climbing are not in a straight line.
- The twin strings you can confuse them with the previous ones but nothing to do, since in this case the two strings are used as a single unit, clipeing the two along with the same insurance. They are used in longer climbing routes and greater technicalism, for example to descend in Rápel because it manages to reduce the weight.

When choosing the elongation of a rope you should know how to differentiate between its different percentages:
- The semi-static strings are practically rigid, static. Its percentage will never exceed 5%, so they are perfect for mountain progression, you work vertícal ... It is due to its resistance in case of small blows, abrasion, pulls. More than to climb, semi-static strings are used to trace .
- The static strings reaffirm even more the guidelines we indicated before. They serve to climb pesos, trace ... They are never used to ensure or climb . Perfect for cannonism, caleology, mountain progression, tyrolinas ... its elongation should never be greater than 3%.
