In May 1987, Caballos de San Leonardo was established. (Tourist Activities Promoter) in order to develop its business activity in the field of active tourism and throughout all these years being awarded the operation of several campsites and hospitality complexes in natural environments of great beauty and importance in the Autonomous Community of Castilla y León (Sierra de Gredos, Río Lobos Canyon, Hoces del Duratón, Sierra de Covarrubias...).


Horse Routes of San Leonardo

It was in 1997 when Proatur launched an Equestrian Center in Covarrubias (Burgos) Caballos del Arlanza, and recently it launched a new Equestrian Center in San Leonardo de Yagüe (Soria) , in which all types of routes are developed through the natural, historical and artistic environments that surround them.

They have a team of professionals specialized in horse riding routes, since it is necessary to know how to give classes or how to take a group of friends on excursions, since not everyone has the same level. If you have never done this activity before getting on a horse, they will give you basic notions about how to ride. The rest will come alone.

It will not be necessary for you to worry about any type of material, as it is enough for you to visit them with comfortable clothes, in which you can feel comfortable. The team of professionals that this company has takes care of the rest.


Proatur discovers different paths

One of these routes is the Lobos River Canyon, which is done in one weekend:

  • Friday. Arrival in San Leonardo de Yagüe.
  • Saturday. San Leonardo de Yagüe - Río Lobos Canyon - San Leonardo de Yagüe, we leave through a pine forest in search of the Río Lobos Canyon, declared a Natural Park and Protection Zone of Birds. You can eat at the Puente de los Siete Ojos and then return to San Leonardo de Yagüe to rest.
  • Sunday. San Leonardo de Yagüe - Carnicosa de la Sierra, you will ride through immense Valsaín-type pine forests and arrive at Carnicosa de la Sierra, located in the Iberian Mountains at the foot of the Picos de Urbión, where you will eat in its Hermitage and then continue to Quintanar de la Sierra.

Delve into the vegetation

This route includes in the price accommodation and full board (2 nights) in a four-star rural hotel, and a full-day route on Saturday and Sunday with meals en route.
