Yumping.- How long have you been in the mountain world?
Luis Fernández.- 40 years, since I could find an excuse to leave my parents alone. Before, I went out for a walk with them.
And.- How do you remember your first expedition?
L.F.- Each outing has been a very positive experience. In all of them, knowledge and practices are acquired that form habits that you automate.
And.- Of all the sports that can be practiced in the mountains, which one do you prefer?
L.F.- With alpine climbing to rarely traveled peaks.
Y.- You have traveled half the world as a mountaineer. What is the place you would return to without thinking?
L.F.- Lately I have discovered exploration in arctic areas, and I find it fascinating

And.- What is the most difficult situation you have had to face?
L.F.- The most extreme has been the climb of the Norte del Puro, in Riglos, in 1978, with the means and insurance of that time. The most dangerous, two avalanches that fell on me.
And.- Is the world of the mountains compatible with that of the family?
L.F.- Totally. There is time for everything. Better if you can also make them participate and they will accompany you.
And.- What do you dedicate your free time to?
L.F.- To climb all kinds of mountains.
And.- We see that you practice a wide variety of adventure sports... do you prefer them on land, sea or air?
L.F.- In any element, although I do more on land. I find a greater variety of landscapes and activities.
And.- Ice or rock climbing?
L.F.- Whatever is necessary to reach the summit. By what not mixed?
And.- Tell us an anecdote that has happened to you in your long career.
L.F.- I went, without any material or intention, to Naranjo de Bulnes in 1981 and met two fabulous brothers who accompanied me through Cepeda to the summit.

Y.- You have managed to combine your passion for the mountains with that of writing, since you also have a blog in which you tell us your personal experiences. Would you like to go far as a writer?
L.F.- I simply try to tell and disseminate activities that can guide others and that are feasible. The feedback is very rewarding.
And.- What is your next project?
L.F.- An arctic exploration. There are many things to do.
And.- How far would you like to go?
L.F.- Carry out the activities I do for as long as possible.
And.- What is your pending subject?
L.F.- I no longer have pending subjects. What I'm doing fills me up.
