In this world there is no rest and the creation of new alternatives is a bottomless pit that you should not miss if you want to be up to date and have a good time. With all of you: the Snow Skate.
Once again, like so many others, we have to travel to the United States to find the origins of a new specialty. In this case it is the new sensation in the world of snow, more specifically for the modality of Snowboarding. A few seasons ago, Snow Skate was created in the "land of dreams", as a complement to Snowboard practitioners in Skateparks.
In this way, two very similar alternatives are combined in the specific Snowboard parks, at the same time it serves to vary the routine a little. With the snow skateboard you can perform all the tricks that you do with the street skateboard, with the difficulty that the snow forces you to perform them with maximum finesse. In Europe it began to be seen a couple of summers ago in the Tignes resort, located in the French Alps, where it was also combined in the skatepark. This season has arrived in Spain and there are already a good number of snowboard fans who include it in their backpack to the snowpark.

The Snow Skate is made with a rigid hard plastic base and consists, like skateboards, of a front part called the nose, and a rear part called the tail. Its surface is a non-slip rubber that does not include any type of anchor or fixation, where you rest your feet freely. There are three models of Snow Skate and they differ mainly in their length:
- The longest one measures approximately ninety-six centimeters and includes elongated guides at the base to drive or guide the board on the snow.
- The intermediate does not reach ninety centimeters and also includes the direction guides of the board.
- The smallest one has a length that slightly exceeds eighty centimeters and unlike the two longest ones, it does not include guides at the base of the board.

The front part is harder and has a little more length than the rear part. Thanks to this peculiarity, the impulse necessary to perform the tricks is transmitted more easily. Skateboards vary slightly in their overall hardness, meaning the larger model is harder or stiffer than the smaller model.
Currently and in addition to Having been the pioneers, the American brands Premier and World Industries are the ones in charge of carrying out the work of manufacturing these fun snow skateboards.
To maintain these skateboards you don't have to be very meticulous. Keep an eye on the base over time if you do a lot of tricks on railings or similar objects. Don't be afraid because it will be repaired on the Snowboard machine and it will be the same again.
The recommended footwear is the Snowboard boot, which guarantees greater foot safety at all times. With normal shoes you have more touch at first, but you can cause an unexpected injury. Clothing obviously depends on how cold each person is and should always be comfortable to perform movements.

At the moment they are sold in some Snowboard stores, but since they are all skateboards family, it is only a matter of time before you also see the Snow Skate in any store specialized in Skate and Snowboard.
It can be understood that driving a Snow Skate is very similar to a street skateboard, but with the exception of going without wheels on a much more slippery surface. This translates into greater technique to perform the tricks in a fine and smooth manner. As you do not have edges, you have to adopt a centered position on the board, lightly carrying the weight on the front leg.
Pay special attention to the position so as not to become unbalanced and lose the option of performing the tricks well. The hard skateboard is easier to carry, because the hard plastic responds directly and quickly to your impulses.
