The 3 best areas to enjoy paragliding in the Lleida Pyrenees
1. Organyà
It is located in the town of Serra de Prada, in Alt Urgell, Lleida. The flight is made at an altitude of 550 meters and is one of the favorite flight areas of Lleida paragliders. You will be able to gain a lot of height over the valley. The usual takeoff is 200 meters above the valley and faces south. The takeoff is at an altitude of 813 meters, which allows for rapid ascent.
The usual landing is very close to take-off and takes place at an altitude of 560 meters. The maximum gradient of the flight is 260 meters.
2. Àger
It is one of the best-known areas and where the most flights have been made. It is located in the town ofÀger, Lleida and the flight altitude is 600 meters.
There are three areas where you can take off:
• Coll d’Ares: it is the largest takeoff of the 3 and has an altitude of 1565 meters.
• Planks: it is a southeast takeoff and is the closest to the town and the camping landing. It has an altitude of 1311 meters.
• La Nova: it is the takeoff with the least gradient of the 3. It has an altitude of 1230 meters.
The landings are made in 3 different areas:
• Camp de la T: it is the field that is closest to the takeoffs. It has an altitude of 800 meters.
• Cal Maciarol: it is a private landing field since it takes place in the rural house "Cal Maciarol", but you can land there. It has an altitude of 725 m.
• Camping d’Ager: it is the landing closest to the town. It is next to the campsite and has an altitude of 600 meters.
3. Aran Valley, Sort and Àneu Valley
The best way to enjoy the incredible natural landscapes of Lleida is by paragliding. It is located in Vielha. During the flight you will be able to fly over these areas of Lleida and observe its beautiful landscapes. The flight lasts about 25 minutes and can be done by experts and beginners, as it can be done in tandem.
