October is the best time to enjoy one of the most emblematic characteristics of nature: the rut. In less than a month the mating season for the deer will begin and from the company El Trasgu La Fronda you will be able to see it in all its splendor.
Between September 15 and October 15 you can enjoy a spectacle while doing the hiking activity or going up to aboard an off-road vehicle. You will be able to feel that the Redes Natural Park, located in Asturias, surrounds you with the characteristic sounds of this time.

First of all, the male deer raise their haunches while bellowing, and later they fight against other males with the aim of taking over the females in the area.
Asturias is one of the best places in Spain where you can go into the rut, since we can currently find the largest number of deer in the wild. With the professional experts of El Trasgu La Fronda you will be able to learn first-hand how this natural phenomenon is carried out.

The departures take place at 5:30 in the morning and last approximately 5 hours, since during the night is the time of maximum activity of this cervid and at dawn we have the perfect lighting to be able to enjoy this natural spectacle. It is an activity that everyone can do, so people of all ages and even levels of experience in adventure sports can do it.
To carry out the activity you can attend with family or friends, but yes, the groups must be made up of a maximum number of six people, since the deer is susceptible to everything that happens around it. It is highly recommended that you go with the desire to enjoy the experience 100% and that you do not forget to wear inconspicuous clothing, as the best thing is to go unnoticed. Take into account aspects such as:
- Comfortable clothing and shoes, keep in mind that you will have to walk for a few hours and comfort is very important.
- Bring a snack and water so as not to keep your stomach empty and not become thirsty. But never throw rubbish on the ground.
- Respect the environment.
- It never hurts to wear a cap, sunglasses, a raincoat... Well, the weather can sometimes play tricks.

One of the pieces of advice we can give you is that, in addition to clothing, you take great care of other aspects such as keeping quiet and even not wearing perfume, as the animal could feel strange. Throughout the visit you will carry out two activities: a 4x4 excursion that will bring you closer to the point from which you will depart and hiking, so you can walk through the forest and feel nature more closely.
