Where to practice snowboarding in Spain?

Aragon

Astún

They say it is one of the most freestyle stations in the Pyrenees. It is a very small station that is stuck in a hole. This allows you to do comfortable continuous off-piste routes, which end at the doors of the lifts without having to take a walk, although if you feel like walking, there are very good itineraries.
The relief of Astún is what makes it so freestyle. When the snowfall comes, large obstacles form, and as they have quite a slope, they are used very well for the construction of large jumps. Recommended station for freestyle lovers, it may be small but it is cozy.

Candanchú

The neighboring Astún is, on the contrary, a totally freeride resort. If you like good adventures, this ski resort will be the perfect setting in which to demonstrate your skills. It has some impressive lines that are very dangerous and is more extensive.

For a few years now it has been quite difficult to find it with a lot of snow, so we depend partly on the luck factor, if we are there and the big pack arrives it is a seasonal joy. Candanchú has a great mountaineering tradition and yet there are good skiers settled there willing to enjoy its dangerous lines.

Formigal

Located like Astún and Candanchú in the Jaca-Sabiñánigo area, Formigal is a large resort, with a guaranteed high snow area. You will find well-nourished areas of snow both in the upper part and in the lower part, which will allow you to enjoy a very steep relief and long descents both freeride and freestyle.

It is one of the perfect ski resorts to learn to ski, since different ski schools operate here offering beginner courses. Furthermore, over the years it is gaining much more prominence and its slopes look practically complete in high season.

Cerler

It is the station with the steepest slope, and the distribution of its lifts allows us to descend good lines.Very good riders have come out of Cerler. As in Candanchú and, in general, throughout the Aragonese Pyrenees, it is difficult to find much snow and the luck factor is decisive. In any case, do not get discouraged and be patient, since in a single night a lot can fall and in the morning you can enjoy the big day.

Catalonia

Baqueira Beret

For many, the best station in Spain. It has the best mechanical means, the largest area without having to take buses, lately, the greatest amount of snow and, in addition, they get involved with skiers. It has a perfect relief for both freeride and freestyle, and although for many it may be uneconomical, you can always enjoy it and you will feel lucky.

Boí Taüll

Located very close to its mother Baqueira, Boí Taüll is a small station very well oriented. This fact allows for large accumulations of snow and is therefore very suitable for snowboards.

It is also very quiet and there are no problems with overcrowding or queues and we can do good off-piste routes which, with a little luck, some turn into very long routes that allow us to reach the town. The landscape is beautiful. We must remember that the ski lifts are seven kilometers from the town station and that a bus leaves every hour to take us up.

Madrid

Navacerrada

In the center of the peninsula are these mountains of not much altitude and little area, but with the best quality of snow in all of Spain, yes, when there is. This is due to the distance that separates Navacerrada from the sea; The snow that falls in these latitudes is very dry, so when it snows it allows us to enjoy the best freeride. The area is very special, since we are in the heart of the Valsaín forest. The descents are between trees, somewhat short but wonderful.

Furthermore, if this happens, the snow lasts longer than in any other season due to its great height, and in spring, while in the rest of the seasons it rains, it snows in Sierra Nevada. >.
