Welcome to South Wales Gliding Club!

We are a small friendly club located at The Airfield, near Usk in Monmouthshire, South Wales. Our location gives us not only some of the most beautiful scenery to enjoy but also some of the best flying conditions.

We have been gliding for over 25 years, so we have plenty of experience to share with you so you get the best out of your gliding experience.We also own our own field and have the recently upgraded equipment. 

We operate our club flying at weekends throughout the year, and group trial lessons 2 evenings a week during the summer, but also sometimes on weekends if the flying conditions are good. Virtually anyone can go gliding, and it´s an economical way to learn to fly. If you can drive a car, then you can probably learn to fly a glider.

If you become one of our members, that would be the first step of an amazing journey at our Trial Lessons and Courses! The sessions consist of teaching the first techniques and basics to then continue with more extensive and advanced skills. We invite you to become a certified glider with us!
