The Abioncillo School Village is managed by the Cooperativa del Río, which has been organizing summer camps with environmental content since 1983. Our facilities are in Abioncillo de Calañatazor, and we organize the camps there. p>
Our summer camps revolve around the following topics:
- Routes from Abioncillo, divided into long and short ones. The short ones last about 2 hours, the long ones half a day (morning or afternoon). These tours are accompanied by a series of environmental games. In addition, we organize excursions in which we combine nature with the cultural heritage of Soria. The excursions can be half-day or full-day. Some of the destinations of these routes are: Fuentona de Muriel, Cueva Maja, Calatañazor, Pinar de Muriel, Fuente del Requebrajo, Bosque de la Mata, Night Walks, Laguna Negra, Río Lobos Canyon, Soria Capital, Destierro del route Cid, Medinaceli and Ambrona or the Route of the Icnitas.
- Workshops on crafts, environment and communication. Organized in small groups and lasting approximately an hour and a half. They consist of a prior talk followed by the students carrying out the activity. The workshops are: river workshops, bird workshops, essence workshops, renewable energy, recycling, soap workshop, astronomy workshop, basket weaving workshop, cane training workshop, popular games, textile workshop, ceramics workshop, radio workshop, press, organic garden, climbing, weeds, candles or juggling among others.
Accommodation is in houses owned by the Cooperative. We offer bus transportation from Madrid for those children whose parents cannot take or pick them up.
The camps are held fortnightly during the months of July and August and are aimed at children from 8 to 14 years old. The registration period is now open, so ask us for information about requirements and do not leave your children without a place in the Pueblo Escuela Abioncillo camps.
