• Our canyoning descents: an exploration of the Auvergne waterways not to be missed! Between the Dore mountains and the Cantal mountains, we have chosen to take you to the Cornillou canyon, famous for its waterfalls and its rugged landscape. Thrills guaranteed!
• Our via ferrata outings: gain height and admire the steep landscapes of Auvergne! Our via ferrata route invites you, from our Murat-le-Quaire site, to contemplate the volcanic massif of the Monts Dore and to appreciate the panoramic view offered over the Sancy massif to the north. An adventure that will appeal to climbing enthusiasts, during a unique route of its kind.

All our activities are carried out with an instructor, who will guide you in sports practice and in your discovery of local biodiversity.

Watch out for splashes! Lovers of adventure, jumping from rocks and wild waterfalls, we have found what you need. In the heart of the Massif Central, at Canyon Auvergne, we have impressive canyoning outings in store for you, which will satisfy your thirst for adrenaline.

Our canyoning site is located in Riom-ès-Montagne, in the heart of the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Natural Park. Located on the geological border between the Cantal mountains and the Dore mountains, Riom overlooks a region rich in streams and rivers too narrow for boats or swimming, therefore ideal for canyoning!

The excursion takes place on the cornillou canyon, known to hikers for its famous waterfall. This is located on the course of the Gabacut stream, the flow of which is regulated by a dam. In short, it is made for canyoning! You will be amazed by the breathtaking landscapes of Auvergne nature, between steep walls, wildlife and vegetation licking the surface of the rivers. On the horizon are the steep ridges of the highest peaks of the Massif Central and the Cévennes... a breathtaking panorama.

Canyoning is the ideal activity to share in a group, whether with friends or family. Although our instructors provide you with professionalism, safety and training in stream exploration techniques, it is necessary for the youngest to know how to swim, or at least to be comfortable in an aquatic environment.

Want to admire the Auvergne mountains from the side of the neighboring massif? At Canyon Auvergne, thanks to our via ferrata outings, it’s possible! Climb peaks and enjoy the breathtaking panorama offered by the Puy-de-Dôme massifs during a sporting excursion to share with your loved ones.

Via ferrata is a climbing sport that has its origins in the Austrian Alps. Today exported to almost all passable walls in Europe, it is located at the intersection of hiking and climbing. Indeed, it gives you all the dizzying sensations of climbing, bypassing most of its technical difficulties. The multiplication of holds along the rocky cliff makes the via ferrata a real aerial hike, taking place on the very side of the mountain.

In order to offer you the best possible climbing experience, we have chosen the Capucin site, in Murat-le-Quaire, to design our via ferrata route. Dominating the upper valley of the Dordogne, the town of Murat-le-Quaire offers remarkable climbing sites: it is bordered by the volcanic massif of the Monts Dore, and by the remarkable massif du Sancy. It offers an inimitable view of the valley below, which you can enjoy directly from the rock walls.

The via ferrata is perfectly suited to young people, as long as they are not afraid of heights! Our aerial hikes are a perfect moment to share with the family: enough to engrave unforgettable memories forever in the minds of the little ones... but also the older ones! Amazement is guaranteed.
