Bodegas Romale

Bodegas Romale was founded in 1989 and is located in Almendralejo, capital of Tierra de Barros and nerve center of the DO Ribera del Guadiana. Eminently privileged land for growing vines with fertile soils rich in nutrients, formed by red clay on calcareous rock, with an average altitude of 500 meters above sea level. The climate is characterized by abundant sunshine all year round with very hot summers and very cold winters, influenced by Atlantic winds, with rainfall between 400 and 500 liters per year.

The winery is supplied by farmers from the Tierra de Barros area, using grapes for bottling mainly from about 300 hectares of vineyards that are controlled directly through our technical staff. .

Although in the area the native varieties have since time immemorial been the Pardina and the Cayetana, our winery has chosen to make wines from varieties recently introduced in Tierra de Barros , after the restructuring of its vineyard, such as Macabeo and Sauvignon Blanc in white and Garnacha, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Mazuelo in red, the latter four varieties being cultivated on trellises and with a small irrigation support .

Most of our wines aimed at going on the market as crianzas or reserva come from vidueños planted in glass, dry land and with an age of more than fifteen years, in their entire Tempranillo variety.

One of the latest bets of our winery has been the production of a sparkling wine using the traditional method, starting from the second fermentation of a coupage base wine of the Macabeo and Parellada varieties, from the municipality of Almendralejo and welcomed to the DO Cava.

Our winery, very aware of the latest trends in the sector, has a large wine tourism room, where in addition to being able to taste our wines through commented tastings, you will enjoy an audiovisual presentation of it through of which you will get closer to the different production processes carried out in our facilities.
