Parco Zoo Punta Verde

The zoological garden Punta Verde Zoo Park is the private structure that contributes to the education of its users, through careful reporting within the park, but also through organization of additional activities such as workshops, screenings and the possibility of taking guided tours.

The conservation of the animal species present within the park takes place in the interest of a very high standard of maintenance, also carried out with participation in research and protection projects on or off site.

Punta Verde is part of the Italian Union of Zoos and Aquariums (UIZA) as an ordinary member and is part of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA) and, consequently, of the 'International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN).

The zoological park takes an active part in the EEP (European Endangered Programme), the body that brings together the commitment carried out by zoological structures within European territory in the context of the conservation of animal species in danger of extinction.

Among the collaborations entertained by the structure, there is also the one with the CITES operational unit of the Forestry Corps, to which it offers logistical and scientific support.

Since August 2002, the park's efforts have been recognized by the World Organization of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA-World Association of Zoos and Aquaria), international coordinator of zoological and marine structures involved in the educational and awareness-raising role of users in the field of animal and environmental preservation.
